Alexa Fix: ‘Make Sure Your Devices Are On The Same Wi-Fi Network’

If your Alexa devices (Echo Dot/Flex/Studio) are all set up in the Alexa app and you are trying to set up multi-room speakers, you may encounter an issue where upon selecting one set of speakers it greys out the other, and says ‘Make sure your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network’.

Here are a couple of solutions to fix this issue:

  1. Speak to each Echo device separately and say ‘check for software update’. Make sure each device is updated, as they need to be using the same firmware version in order to be compatible in a multiple speaker set up
  2. Check that one of the devices aren’t already in another ‘group’. If it is, remove it, and then try again.
