When you’re using Task Manager, it can be frustrating when you’re monitoring a process and then suddenly it disappears from the screen (as it jumps up and down the list based on what you are filtering it by).
You can pause Task Manager by holding the CTRL key.
This is particularly helpful when you set the Refresh Speed to High and you need to freeze the window for a moment to take a look at what is happening with the processes and their resource utilisation.
This works on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11.
