Reload Fonts Without Restarting Photoshop

Tony
September 6, 2021

If you’re working on an image in Photoshop and then install a new font, it won’t automatically update the font list.

To refresh the fonts without restarting or closing Photoshop (which can be a pain if you have multiple documents open), do the following:

  1. Open the character window (Window -> Character)
  2. Click the dropdown menu in the top right and press ‘Reset Character’
  3. The fonts will now be updated with those on your system
